GBOX 15 VET Diode Laser with 15W Veterinary Treatment or Surgery Probe
GBOX 15 VET is a 15Watt veterinary Diode Laser, with Surgery Probe that is as easy as scalpel to use for every day procedures, or with Treatment Probe for therapeutic procedures to promote healing, control pain, inflammation and infection.
Unlike CO2 laser, the diode laser beam is transmitted through an optical fiber. This means that the laser beam can be delivered through rigid or flexible endoscopes. By processing the fiber tip, has made it possible to perform surgeries commonly performed by CO2 laser. During the past few years, Diode Lasers have virtually replaced Nd:yag lasers or CO2 lasers for fiber directed laser surgery, because of their smaller size, increased versatility and decreased maintenance requirements.
Veterinary application areas of Gigaa Diode Laser and advantages
- Surgery (and endoscopy):
In the surgical area, the laser ray can be used for the cut of tissue like a scalpel. Through the high temperatures of up to 300°C, the cells of the treated tissue pop open and evaporate. This process is called vaporization. The vaporization can be very well controlled through the selection of the parameters for laser performance, focussing of the laser ray, distance between the tissue and reaction time and therefore point-exactly applied. The strength of the used fiber-optic decides furthermore how fine the executed cut becomes. The influence of the laser causes a coagulation of the surrounding blood vessels so that the field remains freely from bleedings. After-bleeding in the cut area is avoided.
Most common application areas of Diode Laser Surgery are: Vaporization cone, Carbonized tissue, Thermally reversible tissue.
Benefits of laser surgery:
- Less bleeding
- Less pain
- Less swelling after surgery
- Quicker recovery from surgery
- Therapy (acupuncture & ray-treatment):
If the laser ray is not used point-exactly but defocused, it can be applied for laser irradiation as well. This has the advantage that the irradiation times can be shortened considerable and repetition treatments are necessary only after clearly longer time distances. This treatment has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and cure-promoting effects and can be therefore used for the treatment of healing of wound disturbances as well as for illnesses of the locomotorium (acute and chronic joint inflammations, musculature inflammations, sinew inflammations or tenosynovitises).
Common Diode Laser Treatment areas are: Healing of a wound promotion, Postoperative measures, Pain therapy, Acupuncture, Hotspot treatment, Arthrose, Strengthening of weak ear cartilages.

- Anti-Inflammation.
- Anti-Pain (Analgesic)

Biological effects from Laser therapy:
Anti-Inflammation: Laser therapy has an anti-edemic effect as it causes vasodilation, but also because it activates the lymphatic drainage system (drains swollen areas). As a result, there is a reduction in swelling caused by bruising or
inflammation.
Anti-Pain (Analgesic): Laser therapy has a high beneficial effect on nerve cells which block pain transmitted by these cells to the brain and which decreases nerve sensitivity. Also, due to less inflammation, there is less edema and less pain.
Accelerated Tissue Repair and Cell Growth: Photons of light from lasers penetrate deeply into tissue and accelerate cellular reproduction and growth. The laser light increases the energy available to the cell so that the cell can take on nutrients faster and get rid of waste products.
Improved Vascular Activity: Laser light will significantly increase the formation of new capillaries in damaged tissue that speeds up the healing process, closes wounds quickly and reduces scar tissue.
Increased Metabolic Activity: Laser therapy creates higher outputs of specific enzymes, greater oxygen and food particle loads for blood cells.
Trigger Points and Acupuncture Points: Laser therapy stimulates muscle trigger points and acupuncture points on a non-invasive basis providing musculoskeletal pain relief.
